What We Can Do Following Oral or Facial Trauma

Posted on 4/20/2019 by Tessa Smith-Greisch
What We Can Do Following Oral or Facial TraumaA facial or oral trauma can cause repercussions that will last for years. No one ever wants to be hurt, but if you or a loved one has suffered from an oral injury, you need to see us right away. There could be things that we can do to help.

Medication
Depending on the type of injury, we might prescribe a pain reliever. Even if we do not do that, we can still recommend something for you to take to help better manage the pain. Depending on the injury, we could also prescribe an antibiotic.

Chipped Teeth

Sometimes, teeth get chipped or cracked when an injury or facial trauma is involved. There are a variety of things that can be done, it all depends on the severity of the damage to the teeth. Caps, crowns, and veneers are could make a difference and help to give you back your smile.

Dental Implants

If you lost one or more teeth due to the trauma, there is a way to replace them. Dental implants are artificial teeth that look real. With dental implants, you will be able to still enjoy all the foods that you ate before the trauma, because they are meant to be permanent teeth.

If you have suffered an injury or trauma of any type, seek medical assistance immediately. There are things that could be more important that need to be checked out first, such as a concussion. After that, if you have bleeding in your mouth, if your teeth are loose, or if your teeth just do not feel right, come to see us.

If the facial injury is more severe than the solutions already mentioned, please make an appointment. There are other things that we can do that will help you to move on from the trauma.
